Using the Dashboard that appears above the poker window (mini mode)

The left side of the online poker tool dashboard shows your hole cards (the two cards dealt to you at the beginning of a hand), as well as the flop, turn, and river cards. Next to this is the number of players in the hand, and the number folder. Next to this is your current hand ranking (Pre-Flop) or your current hand (Post-Flop), along with your current chances of winning at the river. The right side of the dashboard has the current betting advice along with a graphical spectrum representing the advice.

Hand Rank

Hand rank is a number, from 0 to 100, denoting the quality of a given Texas Holdem hand (100% being the best).

Before the flop, Holdem hands are ranked according to statistical performance with the given number of opponents. Note that a poker hand that ranks highly against one opponent may do poorly, statistically, against 5 or 8 opponents. AA is always the best hand pre-flop, but 7 2 off-suit (not the same suit) is not always the worst hand (statistically speaking, 3 2 off-suit loses more often in a heads-up game).

After the flop, hands are ranked strictly by their strength in combination with the cards on the table. For example, if your Texas Holdem hand rank is 50% after the flop, this means that half of all possible hands out there would beat you at that point.

When Calculatem Pro™ recommends betting advice, it takes into account Texas Holdem hand rank, the probability of improving your hand by drawing certain cards (known as outs), the number of opponents in the hand, what hands these opponents might have and your position at the table.

Pot Odds

Calculatem Pro takes Pot Odds into consideration. What this means is, if the advice would normally be to fold, but the amount of money you could win has a high enough ratio to make it worthwhile to call, it will tell you "Pot odds say call". Be sure and keep in mind your stack size if you get this advice in a tournament. Conversely, if you have good odds, but it costs too much to call and the payoff is not great, you may get a "Pot odds say fold."

What the online poker tool dashboard does not show

The betting advice does not take into account the chances that one or more of your opponents are bluffing. The betting advice, as well, cannot determine times in the Texas Holdem game when you want to be aggressive or cautious based on your "read" of other players.

In addition to odds and statistics, Texas Holdem is also a game of reading other players. While Calculatem Pro™ will help most players master the odds of this popular game, only time and practice will teach you how to read other players and vary your betting based on this knowledge.

Switching Calculatem Pro™ to "full mode" and using game options

At any time, you may switch between "Mini" and "Full" mode by clicking the appropriate buttons along the bottom of the app.

In "full mode" you can see more Texas Holdem hand information and access the Calculatem Pro™ options menu.

Simply click on the "mini mode" button to return dashboard to its minimized size.

The Full Mode Screen

Full mode shows a larger representation of the cards, odds, pot odds, and advice. In addition, it has a multi-screen display that can be switched between 4 different views:

The deck. This shows you what cards are left in the deck. Colored dots appear on any cards that will improve your hand (without improving others). In manual mode, these cards may be clicked or dragged into the various card positions above.

The table. This view is a small representation of the table, showing each player and their status. In manual mode, you can right click any player and change their status (to tell Calculatem Pro if and when they folded, for example). Also, in manual mode, you may Click "Layout" to change the layout of the table, and New Hand to clear all cards and advance the dealer button.

Odds on the next card. This is a chart giving you your odds of hitting certain hands on the next card, as well as your odds of having the best hand on the next card. In addition, your best opponent's odds on the next card are shown.

Odds on the River. This is a similar chart, but it shows odds on the hand if it were to play to the River.

Other buttons:

Attach to Texas Holdem Game

Use the Attach to Game button to detach or reattach to a poker window.

Mini Mode

Use the Mini Mode button to switch the dashboard back to mini mode.

Options

Select this button to change game options. The following game options can be adjusted from this window:

Playing Style (Pre and Post Flop Advice)

Calculatem Pro™ will give different advice based on your preferred playing style. Do you want to be an aggressive Texas Holdem player or a cautious player? Are there certain hand rank preferences you have based on your existing experience? To change the advice you receive from Calculatem Pro™ based on your personal playing style, choose this option on the dashboard.

Set your preferences for play before and after the flop using the Tight, Average, and Loose options, with Loose being more aggressive and Tight being more cautious.

You may also force Calculatem Pro™ to never advise you to play Texas Holdem hands in certain positions, unless they are in a certain top percentage. For example, if you never want to call in the small blind unless your hand is in the top 5% of all starting hands, simply check "Also force these minimum starting hands" under the "Playing Style" menu. Next, move the "Small Blind" slider to "95", and the rest of the sliders to zero (disabling them).

Calculation Speed

Depending on your CPU speed, choose the appropriate option. It is recommended that you start at Accurate. If Calculatem Pro™ is too slow in giving advice; try the normal option, and finally the fast option.

Full mode always on top

Select this if you want the full mode screen to always remain on top of other windows.

Mini mode always on top

Select this if you want the mini mode screen to always remain on top of other windows.

Show Cards After Fold

Checking this option will cause Calculatem Pro™ to pretend you are still in the hand after you fold. Your hand will remain shown in the data bar, and advice, odds, etc will all act as if you had not folded.

Four Color Deck

This options shows each suit as a different color, to match the four-color option in most Texas Holdem online poker rooms.

Dealer is Big Blind when heads up

Calculatem Pro™ normally assumes that the player on the button is the small blind, when playing heads-up. A few Texas Holdem poker rooms do not use this rule in certain games, however. If the game you're playing is like this, check this option.

Odds Display

You can choose to have Calculatem Pro™ display your Texas Holdem odds a percentage, ratio, or straight chances.

Now you're ready to start playing Texas Holdem with an edge because you know the odds. Good Luck!

Note: This program is a poker odds calculator. It is meant to give you the odds on the current situation. However, as any seasoned poker player will tell you, there is more to the game. A good example is bluffing. Although Calculatem Pro™ is not going to tell you WHEN to bluff; it can very much help you determine if someone else is bluffing.

Also, mixing up your game is important. If you always play straight, people will figure that out, and simply fold whenever you raise. In other words, don't always do what Calculatem Pro™ says to do. This is the reason for the advice slider bar. If Calculatem Pro™ tells you to fold, but you can see your hand is very close to being a playable hand on the slider bar, you may want to consider playing every once in a while.

What our Customers Say:

"Using a poker odds calculator that doesn't have pot odds is like missing the last page in a how-to book. You've got the basics, but what you really need to play good poker - pot odds - completes the puzzle. CalculatemPro™ simply changes everything."
– Dennis Johnson, Waverly, Massachusetts

"Calculatem Pro™ has saved me time and time again from throwing away cards I ended up taking a big pot with. Watching my cards play out even after I folded really let it sink in how much I was wasting not playing the pot odds. Not any more..."
– Craig Shepherd, Seoul, South Korea
